Local Spring Events 2008
Posted on April 2nd, 2008 by HeatherFiled under: Miscellaneous
We are very excited to debut our new TEAM PINK to highlight local women and cycling. We do mountain biking, road biking, and/or triathlon and get fun matching schwag from sponsors. We have even been approved as a nationally sponsored Specialized Women’s team. To do this, we have to submit a team photo by next week so we can be on their Designs for Women website and get sponsorships and team pricing. Beginners and experienced riders alike are welcome and we only require a one event minimum (of your choice) per year. We will be able to offer reimbursements for race placings and such, but we want to emphasize that it is not necessary or even preferred, this is just for fun!
We have national women cycling industry sponsorships by:
Ø Specialized Designs for Women
Ø Terry Precision Bicycles
Ø Iron Girl
We also feature sponsorships from local woman-cyclist-owned businesses: (Thank you!)
Ø Nicole Dutson: Heaven Can Wait Animal Shelter
Ø Kristen Munson: The Beauty Centers
Ø Connie Blau: Big B Ranch, Organic Solutions
Ø Melissa and Marie: Viva Las Vegas Masters Swimming
Ø Julie and Amy: Whooha Gear
Ø Alissa Christensen: PodBod24 Personal Training
And we continue to represent our supportive Team LVC Sponsors as well:
Ø True Dentistry
Ø Goodsell and Olsen
Ø Mountain’s Edge
Ø LandBaron
Ø Arista Wealth Management
Ø Escape Adventures

We just had our first practice today. It was really fun, with 15 super kids running on around the baseball park along with 6 burros and 2 dogs. It was VERY exciting! We will have practices every Friday afternoon. We are practicing to run the Great Santa Run on December 1st. It’s OK if you can’t make the practices, you can still join the team for the event. It is really fun. With event registration ($25) everyone gets a full santa suit to run in! Adults and kids alike. Call Heather Putnam for more information, 875-9190.
